3. Decide when and how you want to use Plan✕

Before committing to adopting a new product, it might be helpful to have a generic idea of what your current pain points are and how Plan✕ might be able to help. You might want to set up a plan or a timeline for which services you would like to launch by when.

Which type of services?

	Discretionary	Statutory
Guidance	For example ‘Find out if you need planning permission’ or ‘What documents will I need to submit for a planning application?’. These give users custom guidance but do not require any back office system. Ready to go now.	–
‘Submit’	For example ‘Report a planning breach’ or ‘Apply for pre-application advice’. Usually submit to an email inbox or Microsoft Sharepoint. Ready to go now with more services still in development	For example ‘Apply for planning permission’ or ‘Apply for Lawful Development Certificate’ Ready to go now. ****Some services / application types are only available in MVP lite version (i.e. without ‘smarts’ like automations). Not all back office systems are supported yet

Back-office systems

You can currently use Plan✕ to:

Submit applications to an email address (all application types, statutory and discretionary)
Submit applications to a Microsoft Sharepoint folder (all application types, statutory and discretionary)
Submit applications to BOPs (all statutory application types)
Submit applications to Uniform (Apply for a Lawful Development Certificate only. Only available to a limited number of LPAs)

You cannot yet use Plan✕ to:

Submit applications to Uniform
Submit to other back-office systems

We aim to support these in the future.
