PlanX is hosted at planx.uk. So by default the link to your services will be something like:
https://editor.planx.uk/council/service_name/published
It is likely that instead, you’ll want to use your own ‘subdomain’ name, such a
https://planningservices.council.gov.uk/service_name
You can create a different subdomain if you wish, but we recommend planningservices
so the links are standardised from council to council.
So users get a consistent seamless experience navigating from your council web pages, and feel confident that they are sending their data to you.
PlanX is hosted entirely on AWS. For serving the static content, we’re using AWS CloudFront.
We’ll need a SSL certificate that’s valid for your council’s domain. We’ll need the Certificate Body, the Certificate Private Key, and the Certificate Chain in base64/ascii encoding*.
Your IT team should be able to provide this. Just share the link to this page with them.
Choose one of these options:
AWS CloudFront requires a 2048-bit key, and does not accept self-certified certificates.
Once we receive the certificate, we’ll add it to our infrastructure and get back to you with a URL (ie CNAME) for you to point the DNS Record (ie domain) to. It’ll look like this:
