The aim of the H4.0 project is to develop solutions for zero-carbon affordable homes, largely focused on small homes. These solutions are to be designed in a way as to allow them to be replicated at scale. The objective is to unlock development of zero carbon affordable homes (through a variety of development models) and to accelerate diffusion of zero carbon building technologies.
To achieve this, the partners will have to take an innovative approach not just to the construction of the homes, but also to their approach to how those homes are designed and delivered. This means:

The role of the platform is to develop the digital infrastructure to support this approach. Put simply, to make it as easy as possible to replicate the house types going forward.
House type design teams will add and maintain the data and rules behind their house type products in the 'engine'.
